Whos the first owner

Hi folks. Some of you might be able to help me out with this issue. I have a 1993 bright aqua convertible which is imported from the USA to me here in Norway. I want to know when the car was put on the road the first time. I only have the sertificate of title of the last owner and he brougt the car in 1997 so before that time i now nothing. Is there anywhere a can find out this on the web or someone i can contact in the States.

You can start by contacting the National Corvette Museum. From the VIN they can probably tell you what dealer took delivery from the factory. Then contact the dealer. Assuming he's still in business he may be able to check his files and tell you who the origianl owner was.

As an alternative you can run a CarFax. While they won't tell you who the car has been registered to they can tell you in what states it has been registered. You can then contact the state Motor Vehicle Commission (the name may vary from state to state) who may be able to give you more information.

Car Fax

Thanks for your help. My problem is that i can not order a car fax in Norway. At the pay page and billing adress there is USA's states only listed, not a way to have it sent over here the way i see it.;help

I have to try to locate the dealer.

I purchased laminated copies of both the original window sticker and the buildsheet for my C5 from the NCM. The dealership my Corvette was delivered to is listed on that buildsheet.

I know it's usually frowned upon, but if you ask a member here who has a subscription to Carfax, he can enter your VIN and send you the results.

Carfax

A cry from Norway. Is there anyone out there who subscribe on Carfax and can be so kind and help me out. I live in Norway and have problems geting all my cars records.

Story behind is that there has been several owners on the car in USA before i had it imported last summer to Norway. Now i need to document when the car was put on the road in USA the first time as the Certificate of title have is from the last owner and state back to 1997. I need to document the age of the car for the Norwegian authorities and they are some hard nuts and have nothing like common sence. I have a hope to put plates on the car this summer but need information above.
