- Why Did You / Would You buy a Callaway Corvette?

Just curious what drew you to buy one - Was it the quality of the componenets? The legendary power? Or was it something else??

What drew you to buy a Callaway Car??

I must confess to not knowing a whole lot about them when I bought mine. It fell in my lap and I just couldn't pass it up.

I got the fever for the looks of the aerobody.

So a standard convertible or ZR-1 with aerobody would do the trick for me.

but when years went by
I am sure that the car I am going to buy will be a keeper,
so why not save some extra money for the SNAT / B2K package too?

I nearly finished the renovation of my 1986 coupe (engine/tranny and interiour) except for the paint
am even considering to buy an aerobody for this car, cause a car with that looks you wanna drive daily

my goal to purchase a Callaway will be in about 4-5 years so untill then I have to

Of course, I don't own one. But to me, the performance and the place in C4 history is what I like about them. Callaway lends a reputation to the car that makes it more than just a turbo 'vette or a stroker 'vette. And the aerobody is just awesome.

I'm not so interested in Callaway Mazdas and whatnot. It's that 'vettes are awesome, and Callaway made some of the awesomest ones. To me they have a quality reputation. I'm not a real big aftermarket kinda guy, but Callaway is one of those companies that is up there in my mind for oem-type of quality while providing more than oem capability.

I dunno, I'm probably not expressing it right. How about this, I love C4's, and to me, Callaways are some of the coolest C4's around.

Why??? I hadn't really thought about why other than yes I like them. It just seem like another Corvette to own in a long line with some of better known being 65 FI, 67 427/435, 68 L-88, Until the ZF-6 cars came out I really was pretty much a midyear or 68-69 big block Vette owner. I started watching the Callaways in 87 but didn't know anyone who had one or see one for sale locally. It was really the articles on Sledgehammer that put the car on my radar screen. Iam Thinking that eventually the TT car will be replaced by new C-6 Z06. Time will tell Ike

My Dream Come True

I bought mine for all of the above except for "part of my collection", being my only vette,so If I could afford to by one car what would it be? The C4 Callaways are a unique breed among the C4 vettes especially when equiped with the Aerobody, less expensive than a new Vette and as fast (or potentially) as a new vette. It has enough modern comforts, CD, Air, Power etc. over buying a much older one as well. JMO.

We just got in to Old Lyme for the Open House - Callaway4Fun is here as well, in fact, he said something like "last one there buys..." :ugh
