Now that I am "between cars" for a four seat cruiser, I was thinking (daydreaming) about C8's and why they do not seem to ever come up for sale...

I do recall a turquoise 94 C8 convertible a couple years ago, and there was some other NOS fed black one, but other than those they seem to be so few & far between...

Tony C. and Big John - anything you guy's would have done differently w/ each of yours when you had them built?? Tony - can I be first in line for yours, should you ever decide to sell :cool

I thought there was only like 20 C8s built total. I think with such a low number of them it will be less likely to see them come up for sale.

There used to be a silver one out here in Seattle that was listed on the Callaway for sale section a few years ago.

As mentioned there are not that many, as looking at the average camaro owner, they were not very likely to blow an additional 10k for a body kit.

Reuben & Jeff - good points both

They are neat cars - My wife said I should get another Callaway , if I buy anything - Reeves & Co. made so many cool creations, what is a fella to do :Silly

Hi Chris,
Have Reeves build you one!
I think there are only three with the 98 and up nose.
Sometimes, I think I would like another one. (After all I only have one.)
If my Mother ever desides to sale her Ultra-Z.
Big John,

I recall seeing you oogling one of those Mazda's at the cruise:D. - Eric:w

C8's

I have a decent collection of Callaway Camaro's, all found on ebay. Only one is a true C8, as it has the body and engine mods, and the other three are stock bodied cars. I have sold one of the cars- a 95 T top, only because I am trying to put away 0 mile delivery cars. These were the cars that were dropped shipped at Callaway as new cars. About half of the Camaros and C8's were done this way, and fewer of those got all of their mods in one shot. I believe about 18 cars got the body from late 93 to 97, and I think three of these are still stock engine cars. One of these is the black 95 that has some stripes and mods that has been seen on ebay as of two years ago. The silver photo car (Paul Deutchman's - exuse the spelling) originally was just a body mod that later got the 383, so it is now considered a true C8. The toughest part about accounting for the cars is that they are still being converted (bodies) today, so technically, the number of C8's has the potential to increase, but I think the true C8's were the ones built from 93 to 97

I have a very extensive log that I have compiled with just about every car built. I update it every time I see one pop up. It gets confusing...

I always watch ebay, and they used to pop up fairly regularly, but I have not seen one in several months. The last two were a 95 purple car, and a 95 red 450.

Hope this helps,
Anthony Kalil

Chris if she said buy another one, a driver TT or that black CR-1 should be in your future.

Anthony, Thanks for the input - sounds like one heck of a collection you have going there :cool

Do you remember the aqua teal convertible C8?? I think it was in New England somewhere - I last saw it on e-bay...

I am hesitant to buy a car off e-bay, how was your success?? Any tips or regrets??

Thanks - Chris

Big John,

Good point John - I will have to discuss further w/ my bride :cool

Your Mother even has a Camaro?? That's awesome!!! My Mother loved to drive the GN I had - the fellas at gas stations always stopped to chat w/ her in that :cool

Good idea's - I like it!

I have had decent luck with ebay, but I beleive it also has to do with the fact that I have gotten all of the cars from the original, or long time owners. I might be more hesitant to buy a car from somebody just trying to make a buck on one. Mine have luckily come from loving homes which helps.

Since there are only two commemorative C8's presently in existence and one(mine) of the two is a full boat vert with the 6.8L motor which is pretty rare,I'll have to pass on your offer. :upthumbs How about a C12? :crazy BTW,love the car and would have done absolutely nothing different.

Tony, a C12 would be HOT :upthumbs however, Natasha is on fire with what she is doing to our home (remodeling) :eek While not quite the front portch I owe her, it is her year to do whatever she wants

I love your Commemorative C8 - from when I saw her under construction, through the time where were were asked to leave the track, to now - it is one bad son of a Sledge :eek

Anthony, that is awesome that your buying experiences have gone so well :cool I have notinced that over 1/2 of the Callaways that are coming up for sale are at dealerships - I wonder if the buzz about them is causing dealers to jump on the bandwagon and try to make a buck as you said :confused
I am grateful to have known the history on mine and especially so, with our B2K :cool

Enjoy your C8's fellas :m
