I am very curious as to why so few members here take advantage of the deals that I post here. I have been a member since 06-11-02 and I have posted some killer deals here. I have not kept records on this but I would say that maybe 3 or 4 members from this site have bought from me. 95% of my business comes from the internet and other Corvette sites but not from here. Anyone have any ideas why this is?:(

Rick,

I couldn't tell you. I've been here since 8/02 and have always noticed your deals. They are ahead of the other dealers as far as discounts.

AND THIS LATEST ONE. WOW!!! 700.00 off invoice and we also get to keep the rebates.

What gives, are the dealers anticipating a slow end of summer for sales? For anybody that's even remotely thinking about a new one. It's not often I say this, but now is the time!

Thanks for sticking to it Rick. Sales is a tough business.

Chuck

I looked at your website several times and maybe I should have gotten my Z06 from you. The biggest factor for me was distance. I live in Idaho, which is quite a ways from Georgia. It would have meant flying out there, getting the car and driving it back, or having it hauled in by truck. Either option costs some time and money.

I appreciate your involvement in the CAC.

Rick,

Your deals are amazing!!! I only wish I had the money to buy a new C5. When I do buy one, it will be from you.

Just so you know a courtsey delivery can be done on a new order and it can be shipped anywhere in the nation at no additional charge. :)

Rick
I should have talked to you before I assumed something incorrect.
I am sure that another Corvette will be in the works in another few years. I will contact you then.

That can be done, but a courtesy delivery (a local dealer doing the delivery for a distant dealer to a local customer) is a tough one.

First you gotta eat crow with that dealer, then there are some dealers that will not be as receptive when servicing. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.

Rick,

The other forum sites you belong to:

1. Cater to the C5 and Z06 only.

2. Have 5 times the members that we do.

3. Have been publicized in magazines many times over hence they get more traffic than we do and yet, most magazines fail to even recognize we exist. Call it short-sightedness or favoritism - you be the judge.

Proof in point. A few months ago in one of Corvette Fever's C5 Technical columns, the author mentioned 4 C5 related forum web sites for subscribers to go to. One of them didn't even exist. The other was nothing more than a splash page with a few lines of text and a picture. We were not one of the sites mentioned. Go figure.

Thanks for the comment but I have never been unable to find a dealer to take care of a courtesy delivery for me and do a ton of them every year. The delivering dealer will charge you a small fee around $300 but much cheaper than flying into Atlanta or shipping. :)

But Rick,

I responded because you just told DRTH VTR that it could be done.

I may have misunderstood.

Rick,

I just recently bought a 2004 Vette locally and had committed myself to the deal before I became a CAC member and saw your ads. Otherwise, I definitely would have contacted you. As for other potential buyers, maybe they're waiting to get a good look at the new C6's before making a decision. In any case, good luck.

Rick,

Your deals are great and if I were considering a new Vette, you'd be the man I'd talk to first.

Unfortunately, I already have one (a bit older, but still nice) and with a baby and another on the way a Vette is probably a distant dream for a while.

I mention this only because I think it might be a fairly common condition here. Most of the CAC folks seem to already have a corvette and most are not late-model owners. That means that they're probably not going to return their current C5 at the end of a lease or at the beginning of the next model year for another new vette. For most, I think, buying a second Vette is prohibatively expensive.

Rick,

I truely wish I would have seen your deals before I purchased my used Corvette. I have considered giving you a buzz to check on trade in but I figure I'm best off keeping the car I already have. Best of luck in your business, I know I appreciate your deals even though I am unable to take advantage of them.

Rick,I considered calling you when I came close to buying a 2001 at the begining of the summer but to tell you the truth I'm a hands-os kinda guy.I could never buy something like a corvette without touching, feeling it.I't's mainly a question of proximity to the dealer who sells it to me......But never say never...and ....I wish I buy one from you..:)......that would mean a newer, better, faster sexier vette for me....lol

I also check your deals from time to time. The sticking point for me is the low ball resale dealers give for used vettes, but then put the same car out on the lot for thousands more.

If I have to sell my car privately, I would rather buy another one privately.

Considering the substantial depreciation in just one year, i would be looking for a used one most likely.

I would like to see more of your pre-owned inventory, with the mileage listed for each.

Rick, I agree with Warren on this. Although I'm sure you offer some killer deals, alot of us aren't ready yet to make the jump to a 'New' Corvette. I'm interested in a late model (read C5) but you don't offer any real specifics on your pre-owned cars.
I understand that I'm at fault here because I'm sure I could call you and get the specs but, it's just as easy to surf the other dealers who do offer them on line. I'm thinking of one in Houston TX to be specific. Even pre-owned Corvettes are a major investment so alot of us, so I think you have to offer something the others don't.
Thanks for doing what you do tho, I appreciate your efforts.:upthumbs

Rick, maybe in 10 years or so when I can aford to buy a brand new one, I'll get ahold of you.

Well Rick when I bought my 00 I looked all over the country & found this color here in the Carolinas at a dealer who specializes in vettes. I just bought a 74 from a private owner in FL. If I was in the market for a new C5 I think it would be a toss up between you and Ken Fitchner. I think in the end it would all boil down to price.
