Rick,
I recommended you to a friend and fellow CAC member that I work with as he was looking at a new 2003 yellow coupe, 6 spd. He tried to deal with you and your dealership and they wouldn't come off the price. He ended up ordering and buying the car locally at a better price. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but at least he tried to buy it from you all.

When I was first looking for my C5 I didn't know about your service or this site.
I haven't quite worn mine out just (145,000mi). When I've finished using this one up and am ready to replace it, I'll sure look you up.

Thanks for the referral. If I sold them all I would be retired by now. Maybe next time.:)

Still waiting for an answer to my e-mails as well????

Here is the email I sent you.

Well I guess it depends on what you have to have for your SS. What are you thinking?

Did you not get it?

I would like to get #20,500 for a trade in.
I would love to purchase an new c5 2003/2004, but since my equity in the "SS" is so low it may not be reachable. I was also looking at the 1998 Blue six-speed. It has a few more miles than I wanted. the forum had allot of post wit repair problem on t this and the 97's.
IS THIS A NICE ONE?
Anything you can come up with I will consider.
Thanks for your time and efforts,

Rick,
As a member of Corvette Action Center I read your posts. I would be glad to purchase a Corvette from you. I've been trying to sell my 2002 Camaro "SS" for six months. I've been looking at everything from C4-s (LT4,GS and ZR1's) to C5 and Z06's. I'm in Panama city, FL. Not to far away. I've got pictures of my "SS" on my web-site below. If you think we reach terms e-mail me.

2002 Camaro "SS"
Red/Blk 8000 miles

SLP "Y" Pipe
Magna Flow performance Exhaust
SLP Air Lid
Holley Power Shot Air Filter

Well Larry it is obvious that our emails got crossed up somewhere. I am sorry for the confusion. The Blue car was a nice one and it appears that it was sold at a very good price. Would you consider a 1995 Blue and white Convertible 6spd. with 33,000 miles?

I bought an '04 from Rick in late July, based on what I first learned about him here. I had been lurking for a couple of weeks or so in these forums, and had been talking with local dealers in Indianapolis, who for the most part either were not helpful at all or were trying to push '03s on me that were not what I really wanted. (To be fair, Bob Benedix at Bill Estes Chevrolet locally was pretty helpful but could not get me the car as soon as I wanted it.)

I can say without hesitation that my transaction with Rick was the easiest and smoothest and most satisfying automobile purchase experience I have ever had. At the time, Rick was offering a better deal than I could find here in Indianapolis, without any haggling. More importantly, Rick had the exact car I was looking for in stock. No one up here could get even close to what I wanted before the end of September.

Here's how it went over the course of seven days:

Wednesday night: I e-mailed Rick with the colors/options I wanted.

Thursday morning: Rick called me back to say his first shipment of '04s had come in and he had exactly the car I wanted.

Friday: I got the financing, signed the faxed paperwork, and sent a deposit to Rick by overnight delivery. I bought a one-way airline ticket to Atlanta.

Tuesday morning: I flew to Atlanta and picked up my new car. (BTW, Tuesday is Rick's day off. He came into work anyway to complete the sale.)

Tuesday afternoon and evening: I drove the car back to Indianapolis.

The only downside from purchasing locally was the cost of the plane ticket, $240 or so, and the cost of the limo from the airport to Rick's dealership, $75 or so.

On the other hand, I have a great story to tell whenever people ask me about the car and where I got it.

And, it wasn't all that bad taking a day off of work and spending it driving my new 'Vette home from Atlanta.

Rick has people on staff who called and got the appropriate tax and license plate fees from my local license branch, so I'd know the exact amount due on delivery before I agreed to any deal. When I finally got the car titled in my name, the license branch here was impressed because Rick's people had the right amount computed down to the penny, and they had sent in all the proper paperwork. In short, dealing with the license branch was no different as far as I could tell than if I had bought the car locally.

I whole-heartedly recommend anyone on these forums who is thinking about buying a new 'Vette to contact Rick.

This endorsement, FWIW, is totally unsolicited. In fact, work has been such that I have not even had a chance to speak with Rick since I picked up my new car at his facility almost two months ago. So, Rick, if you see this, thanks again!

mccauley,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center and thanks for sharing your buying experience with us.

Nice story to post about a great Vette dealer!:beer -> to Rick

By the way, welcome to the CAC & congrats on your new ride!

mccauley,

Thanks very much for the kind words and I am glad to hear that you were happy with your purchase. How about sending me a picture I can place on my website.:)

Rick,
Yes I could tell that our e-mails got lost in cyberspace. Sure glad CAC is here and never fails....
I'm not interested in the 95. I'm not interestedin a Vert. Now a 96 CE LT4 or 96 GS would spark interest. Otherwise I'm trying to find a way to swing a 200-2004 6 sp. Coupe. Everyone wants Top dollar for their Corvette and won't even give me trade-in value on my "SS" I'm still looking.
Thanks for all your help. I may take a day off work next Friday to do some shopping. My Credit Union was offering 2.0% but it runs out on the 15th. That why I was trying to get something before then.
Gus
