Greetings all... last year I purchased a 2004 but now, I want the 2005. Why is there such a shortage of C-6's? When can a consumer expect to take delivery of one and pay a good price instead of dealers selling 10k over invoice . . . ?

And out of curiousity . . . is seems the used 2004's are commanding an extremely good price due to the shortage of C-6's . . . what could I expect to sell a loaded 2004 coupe for?

Do you mean C6? C6s are available at "decent" price points. Ive seen anywhere from list to $3000.00 under. BTW, liberty is using your brain and NOT your arms!!!

I've seen probably 1/2 dozen C6's sitting in some of the bigger Chevy dealerships around here. There doesn't seem to be a shortage around here.

Oops... yes C6's! In the area here, there are a limited handful of C6's at various dealers and the dealers say, orders are running about 60 days out. One dealer had a Convertible asking 10k over MSRP.

BTW; Although it would be preferable, true liberty has NEVER been achieved through "Brains". . . violence is the tool of reality. It is not politically correct, it is not preferable, but . . . if you study human history, you will know, violence is always and the only unfortunate realistic solution to achieving LIBERTY!

Kerbeck in Atlantic City, N.J. has a big supply and is dealing. I believe they are the #! Vette dealer in U.S.A. Good luck.

Ouch. How long has it been there for? Think they'll get $10K over MSRP?

Not sure how long they had it for but sopmeone did pay it as it's gone. This is what a dealer e mailed me last night:

I contacted GM's Locate Service and had intentions on sharing with you where
you can go to obtain one. What I learned was that we are sold out of yellow Corvette Coupes in our Region which covers 6 states.

Option one I would be happy to order a 2006 and get it just the way you would like.

Not too encouraging.

yellow is one of the HARDEST colors to order and to find - it is an extra price, and not that popular

? Suburban in Sandy has been advertising the same C6's for weeks. I expect they are selling at MSRP. Can you find Sandy?

C5s in this area ( I live in Beaverton ) are being advertised super cheap. Same guy has been advertising a 5000 mile '04 Z06 for weeks at 42 k or thereabouts.

I suggest you buy, subscribe to, or read the Oregonian. You'll find a C6 plenty fast. 10k over list? On what planet?

WTF?

Last I saw, Suburban had 4 C6 coupes on the lot and a Triple black Vert that has since been sold. They sell all of their cars at msrp. Carr has a 15k mark up on a black on black 6 spd coupe. Not sure on Russ, Wentworth or T&C.

Check some of the other forums for their sponsering dealers. I got mine thru Spitzer Chevrolet (talk to Rick Conti) for about $3,000 under MSRP last Jan. Knows his stuff and is great to deal with. Return trip home was a great opportunity to break in the car (approx 1300 mi.)

Good sources:

Hope I am not stepping on any toes here.

Well out of all those dealers I think total inventory is about 8 . . . not a lot to choose from. Surburban where I bought my '04, is probably about the best aound in this region for getting what you want, but when they tell you they can't even get one (yellow), it's probably true. I tell ya what, if you can get me the one in the area, I want I'll give you a finders fee. Just strange... When I bought my '04 inventory in this region was probably around 40 vettes... now there's roughly 8 . . . did GM just decide to go slow on the production ?

Satan, I dont think that GM slowed down the C6 production. They cannot afford to!!!Its one of the only models making any money for them. Kerbeck usually has 35 or so in stock with another bunch in transit. Reedman-Toll has 8-10 in stock(Pa.).

FYI - Millennium Yellow and Magnetic Red C6's have not gone down the assembly line for quite sometime. They are being replaced in 2006 with Velocity Yellow and Jewel.

Can a customer even place an order for a 2005 C6 at this time? ;shrug

Later . . . . . .

I would think it's real close to cut off time if not already passed. Don't the factory's start gearing up for the next year's models around the end of May, begining of June??
