Help! wider rear tires

What is the widest rear tire size that can be used on a stock 2009 vette rim?

I think 295's would not be any trouble but I have seen on another forum where one guy put some 305 Nitto Invos on the rear of his car without any problems according to him.....maybe Tire Rack would have some answers.......
