Help! Wierd, check engine light??

My check engine light comes on when the the engine/ignition is turned off.

The light will even stay on with the key removed.

When the engine is started the light immediately goes off. The car runs fine and the light never comes on during operation. When the key is turned to the on position (engine not started) the light goes off. Any ideas?? I have not tried to pull the codes, actually trying to get the codes may not work due to the light working backwards. Any help or info you may have will be greatly appreciated!!

Getting the codes will still guide you. You first are looking for code 12 (one flash, followed by two quick flashes). This tells you that the system is fine. I am curious what will you get...

I wonder if there is a wire that has shorted out,or gotten worn thru and is getting grounded????
