Will a 2001 w/Calif. emmissions run well in the Colorado mountains?

I'm considering purchasing a 2001 or 2002 6 speed coupe. First of all, will I regret buying a California car since I live in the mountains of Colorado. Approximately 25% of my driving will be at high altitudes above 8000'. I've heard that the California emmissions hamper performance here. And should I choose a 2002 to avoid the oil consumption problems I've been reading about that 2001's are experiencing. I've owned 4 Vettes previously, but this will be my first C5. So I'll appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!

All 01 are the same. The only difference is the stickers that get put on the car.

Corvette junkie is correct all 2001 and later C5s are the same with respect to emissions equipment.

Hi there,
You will only receive a difference, as the car will compensate to the decreased oxygen in the air.
You may notice a decrease in power, but only slightly.
