Will not start

My 86 vett has started to semi start and then not start for about 5 minutes or so.
I am not stepping on the gas when I first get in and try to start it. I will drive for a while shut it off and when I try to start it again It fires stalls and then I have to wait.
Any idea on the problem????

Check fuel pressure should be 40 to 43.5 psi,or you may have a bad fuel injector or two.

How does it run while you are driving it? If you had a bad injector it would not run at all, or run very poorly. If you may think an injector is bad pull the plugs and see if any are gas soaked.

Also might want to check your battery connections. Had a very similar problem, turned out the positive side of my battery had stripped out. Funny thing was, it would only act up when hot, and then only sometimes. Checked a lot of other things before finding it (fuel pump, filter, etc.). Worth checking anyway.

i had a similar problem on my 95. it would run and then shut off out of the blue. my problem was the wiring harness plug that goes in the top of the distrubutor had a clip broke off of it and it wasnt getting a good connection causing it not to spark

Check the fuel filter, mine was having start up problems and wouldn't accelerate properly until I changed it.
