Recently noticed that when I close the door on the passenger side of my 1993 Convertible, the window is not aligned so I can't shut the door without the window down a few inches first. I can notice some side to side movement when holding the window length wise.
Is there something I can look into before falling prey to the local body shop?

Thanks,
Brian / Indianapolis

Bstie,
Sounds like the window stop on the door may be out of adjustment or the guide stop on the glass may be broken, either way you'll have to remove the door panel to get a look inside. Once you have the door panel off look for a plastic guide attached to the glass, it should ride along a metal rod inside door, and follow it up to where it meets a stop. The stop can be adjusted up and down for alignment of front edge of window. Loosen nuts on other window studs for minor adjustments to rear of glass.
Good Luck, Tim:D

Unable to get door panel off.....

Looks like a trip to Chevrolet to clean my wallet. Thanks for the reply though. I think the door panels are permanently attached to the door from the inside.

Brian,
It's probably just a few screws left in the panel. I know there is one behind the door lock. Pry the leading edge away from door panel and slide out. Then there is another behind the curtosy light on the door. Light should just pop off. Take care, Tim

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Don't think you want to pry on the lock knob as it will break....

The lock just snaps over a rod running back the lock mechanism. Take a small flat screwdriver and pry on the leading edge while sliding the knob off(towards front of car). Sometimes you just need a little faith. Worst case senario is you break it, still cheaper than local dealer. Better hurry or your gonna miss the Colts lighting up New England tomorrow. Later, Tim
