I purchased a New Corvette Window Regulator from Corvette Central a 9 months ago I not been used very much mainly soon after installing it I started my motor swap and the car was not driven for 6 months.
Now it back on the road the window with the NEW Window Regulator frame is broken at the tack welds.
( Ya this my Luck whats new).
So now I have buy anouther one not to happy about this.
Where can I purchased a Good Corvette Window Regulator thats going to last more than a couple months of use.
I willn't buy anouther POS from Corvette Central again it was even on back ordered when I got it I had to wait a month for it to show up.

Was this new one in abind somehow? thats strange that it would break the welds instead of eating the motor.

I know there are 'tricks' to installing regulators...I did one (used) that was fine in the donor car and after installing it was suddenly slow. Can;t see any problems, but something is not right. I keep waiting for it to die, but it won;t. It's been in there for a good 10 yrs...

Try Corvette America or Ecklers. I can;t reccomend Mid America anymore after some issues with them standing behind one of their products, but they DO have the parts.
If nothing else, contact one of the bigger vette salvage places and get a good used one for lots less. Ck flea-bay too.

that has to be the cheapest GM part on the whole car !
Check their site out.

Only have random surplus stock items but what they have are dirt cheaper for OEM parts

Set of 4 OEM brake rotors (J55 13" front ) for $80

Set of 4 new front A arms inc ball joints and the now no longer available factory rubber bushes for $400
Would cost you the best part of that for quality (Moog, etc ) balljoints alone without install labor / time

I took the Window Regulator out of the car this morning to take a better look at it welds the Side rails that broke are made Of 6061 T6.
Aluminum the tach welds that broke I drilled out the tack welds drilled them to #21 Dimpled the holes in both parts I did not want to counter sink it due to the type and thickness of the metal and Installed AD counter sink rivets.
The window works like it new now I did not think much about when I first installed the window reglator but I know the other doors is all steel.
But If I ever have replace anouther one I going to make sure it all steel next time around.
Not a hard fix but I still not to happy with the product after such a short time breaking already on me and costing $279.00 for it.

Same experience with MAV, sadly, been years since I bought from them as a result.

Retrofitted my '84 with parts sourced on flea-bay; cheap, nice seller.

I find other parts at good pricing from : gmpartsdirect.com: Alternate GM Catalog

But GMPartsDirect shipping costs suck ;squint:
Do they carry it?

I get a discount on FedEx and can check on getting it to you if you PM me the info I need.:w

I fixed the old new one already but thanks anyways.
