Window tint violation

I just got pulled over and ticketed for my side windows being too dark. I was just wondering if any of you know what the penalty for this is. Am I going to have to remove my tint? She measured the tint and it's about 13%. She also said that she'll be mailing a copy of the violation to the safety board or something like that. Could they revoke my safety inspection?

i believe the federal standard is 30% tint, 70% tranparency. if you have blue tint in the glass like most vehicles, it puts you right at the legal limit. one way around this is if your eye doctor prescribes tinted windows for you. i know several people that have gone that route. you will get pulled over every chance thay can, but they can't fine you or force you to remove the tint. Tom, i too the 2 races a spacer and measured them in a stack. then took a piece of aluminum stock turned the ends to fit the races . then i can add spacers to get the right setting.
