I had window tint film applies to all the glass on my 13 C6 by a company that has tinted for me before (they had always done a good job in the past). When I got the car back, all was OK except the upper part of the back glass, where there is a dot matrix that seems to have prevented the film from firmly adhering, thus making the area look a bit lighter than the lower part. The matrix starts off with smaller dots and they get larger as they go upward. Tinter says this is a common issue with no clear answer. I'm upset because I think it looks bad, as the "line" between the properly glued film and the part-glued is not a straight line, and that makes it look sloppy. I'm also upset because I specifically asked before job was done if the tinter had done C6's and was told he has done quite a few, but nothing was said to me about this problem with the rear matrix. Anyone out there experience same thing? Anyone had tinting and did NOT have this problem?

I had the same problem on my C-5 and the installer put black vinyl over the area and it took care of the problem, well on my C-6 GS is having the same issue ,when I said that was not exceptable the installer said he could try the vinyl trick,I'll let you know when I have it done.

Had the same issue with a previous Vette.

Black vinyl as stated above does the trick, if your near Philly see Ryan at Shades of Gray he'll take care of you!

I'm about 1 hour northwest of Philly. Can you explain what was done? That vinyl is on inside and is solid, right? How big (top-to-bottom) is the strip? I would guess you don't see through that vinyl, but it hides the dot matrix.

Tint VS dots

Yes, mine was done this way also, and i didnt like the way it looked either. What they did to fix the problem was to use a black vinyl ONLY where the dots are....It turned out GREAT ...love it! I am 5' 2" so I don't see up that high anyway! Hard to capture in a picture but, i will try later.

I assume that they just butted the see-through stuff right against the solid stuff? Maybe they overlapped a bit? Can you see the separation between the two materials from the outside?

I had my C5 done a month ago. When I went in the guy told me this was an issue. Mine is barely visible, so I just left it.

I cannot see a separation, it looks really good. I could not get a good picture, the window just looks like its all black in the picture.
