Window tint?

Since the Z 06 has the rear window defogger, has anyone put window tint on and maybe later on decided to remove it. No matter whatever the reason for removing it was, did you then encounter problems with the defogger working, or while the tint was on, did the defogger affect the tint? The effect I am talking about would probably be burning of the tint creating lines larger then the size of the defogger lines.

I am considering have just the back window tinted. I do not want it real dark, in fact just the opposite, just the minimum tint.

Thanks

Pseudomind,
I'm only able to provide you with half of the perspective you seek, since I have tint on my rear window, and have no desire to remove it.

I my case, the tint looks good, and I have had no issues with the rear defroster. The only issue with installing tint over the defroster is to ensure that when you cut the tint, you don't inadvertently cut the wires to the defroster. A good professional installer will certainly know how to avoid that mistake.

As for taking the tint off, I can't imagine that removing tint would damage a defroster.

Each car I've owned(all 9 of them) have been tinted with NO drawbacks or problems(other than I had to choose LIMO and was pulled over a time or two!) with the rear de-fogger.

I am un-decided if I'll tint this car and what shade I am going with if I do. It looks really nice as is....but will it look nicer with tint? Not sure. . . .

Tint doesn't affect the defrosters at all. Suprisingly, the tint is relatively easy to remove from defrosters also. DO NOT use a razor like you would on side windows to scrape off the adhesive. First, peel the tint off, then fully soak the left over adhesive with glass cleaner. The foamy spray stuff in a can works the best. Let the glass cleaner set for a while, then use steel wool to scrub the adhesive off. The just use glass cleaner and towels to get the window clean.

When I find my Z, it will be tinted all around.

Tinting can be removed but you do need to find someone experienced and conscientious. This is something for which you must pay and is not a DIY project.
