I will painting the car and the trim needs painting as well so I removed
the rear trim and the pillar trim in the front. The top front trim I have
loose at both sides where the glass curves but it real tight across the
front flat section. Is this under the T top chrome trim?

Also broke 4 of the rear clips:mad Do they have replacements for
them?

Thanks for the help guys

I'm curious if you were using the required tool to remove the rear window trim so that you wouldn't break the clips? A few months back I painted my rear window trim while still on the Vette. It came out very well. I specifically did this to avoid issues with those clips breaking.

Jeff, I looked for the right tool and seen no info on one. On my Chevelle
& Nova a trick to get the trim off is to use a cheap can opener. Works
well for those cars but the curve of the back window was tough.

After I broke the first clip there was enough room to see how they were
attached and I had enough room to use the round end of the can opener
to just push it in and relieve it. Works fine but I broke the first one and
I didn't break the other three but they are cracked.

I need to get all the trim off as it raps around the lip and need it painted
as well.

You need a reveal molding clip tool - any good auto parts store or body/paint supply store has them. :)

John, I have one of those;) but I didn't know how to use it on
this kind of clip:L Do now though but the opener worked good.

Hi Chuck :)
Since I have destructive tendencies also, whenever I am working on any of my Vettes, I have my finger on the pulse of people and places that can bail me out:D

This place hears from me on a regular basis:

All the clips and fragile little day wreckers I have ever needed, [the 62 we are trying to bring back to life is proving to be a rolling ulcer compared to my C3's though] :)

Hope the link works, its a long one.... p/n# X2568 or #36635 maybe??
Greg

Hey Greg,

Thanks for that! My 82 clips look different then they show but looks
like they will work:beer
Think I will order a complete set just to have some.
