I know that this is still a long way off, and some of you will probably want to rip my head off :bash for mentioning it this early, but hey, I was bored :o at work so I figured I'd bring it up now so I wouldn't forget when it comes time.

So, what do you guys (or at least those of you not in FL or some other nice warm place) recommend for winter storage? Do you suggest starting the car every day? Every week? Or do you not wory about starting it and just leave the battery on a trickle charge? What about fuel stabilizers like STA-BIL?

Thanks

I would drive the car every other week or so - weather permitting...
"Battery Tenders" seem to work well (that is a specific brand BTW)

I also think "Sta bil" would not be a bad idea...

I would also put a baggie and rubber band it over your exhaust tips to keep vermin out of your cans :eek

Some folks park on carpet strips or padding to keep tires from "flat spotting" ...nothing a good burnout won't cure ;)

Hope this helps :m

My 02 cents -

Wash & Wax

Sta Bil in full gas tank - run for about 10 minutes
Moth balls under the hood and front of vehicle
Stuff rags in exhaust pipes
Battery Tender hooked up all winter
Car cover

Only start the xar if you are going to drive it and get it HOT. Don't start it and let it idle in your driveway.

Good stuff :)

The moth balls will help keep vermin away and the wash and wax will keep you baby happy (and less to do in the Spring)

Let the car warm up is also goot as short durations of running a vehicle can cause more harm than good due to moisture not being burned away - Oil temp should be normal prior to shutoff...
