My wipers do not work. I have pretty much traced the problem to the windshield wiper relay because the motor works and all other things check out. Can anyone tell me where that #$%^&* relay s located? :W

Nothing happens when I turn on the wipers. The door does not open. I can open it with the manual override, though. The switch itself is good. That's why it seems to be the relay.

Nope. If I unplug the motor and run a hot and ground to it directly they work. That is why I figure it's the relay or the ground to the relay. Either one would explain the problem.

I've always thought the C3's were the best looking cars but NOTHING was made to be worked on. Everything was designed to be assembled once and the whole car thrown away when something broke! But I guess that's what makes them "interesting". :eyerole

Is the center gauge panel cracked horizontally? The wiper switch must be grounded for the motor to work, and it grounds through the center gauge panel - if the panel is cracked, the switch has lost its ground path.

:beer

No cracks in the center gauge panel. I will try running a ground directly to the gauge and see if that helps. Right now it is at the shop getting in a Tremac 5-sp! :D

Not sure if this will help cause I don't know if you just got the Vette or if the wiring is the same BUT I found out it's kind of a common problem thanks to Uncle Bubba that a lot of times the ground wire from the motor that grounds on the starter at the bell housing gets hooked up to a hot lead on the solenoid.
That's what was wrong with mine. Drove me crazy till someone told me about this common problem.

This is a problem that just recently started, so it isn't incorrect wiring. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do the wipers work when you open the wiper door with the override?
:)
I have this problem with my 68.I can open the wiper door with the pull down switch then my wipers work but the door wont open and wipers work on the switch alone.Any ideas?
cheers

There is a vacuum switch on the back of the tach that is a major pita to get to. It is connected to the wiper switch. When you turn on the switch, it sends vacuum to the door.
