When I built my Grand Sport (in 1995) I used a Painless harness, with the same quick-disconnect arrangement for the cluster; wiring a car from scratch is a VERY tedious project, and you need to give grounding a LOT of thought. Had no particular problems, but I had done four previous cars from scratch (street rods) and already knew most of the tricks to simplify the process.
