Wiring Harness

If you are talking about exact replacement harnesses, there are two main manufacturers but for the moment I can only remember one,Lectriclimited. You can buy straight through them or other dealers.Ive purchased many harnesses from Eagle Wire harnesses. He usually cuts me a deal because of dealing with him in the past. Most harnesses are built to order so it usually takes them awhile to build it and get it to you.None of them are labeled so a good AIM is a good thing to have.

Just a thought matchframe-

have the harness upgraded to BLADE fuses... you'll have to pay extra (maybe) but lectric limited told me they could do it. I don't care for the glass fuses myself.

Besides, it makes finding an emergency fuse from a gas station at 3am that much easier!

I have never done anything with wiring harnesses, so don't take my words to be credible. But I watch the do-it-yourself Rod shows on Speed, and they use the brand "Painless" wiring. Supposed to be very easy and good. Maybe you should check it out.

You are already on the wiring? Sounds good. :)

Thanks for the suggestions! I will check out each one to see what works best, and is wallet friendly. I will have some custom circuits so the OEM may not be the best way to go for me.

I like the idea of using the blade fuses. I had been thinking of upgrading to that type of fuse box.

Now that you are at the wiring stage, do you have most everything in already? Or still have a long ways to go..?

A long way to go....

I was just planning ahead. I have to address the wiring, and other interior issues sometime, and there is a Corvette Show-Swap meet here in February. I plan to buy lots of things there, so I wanted to have an idea of exactly what I needed. I understand that Painless Wiring will be there. I know Vanacor will be there, and I plan to buy an L88 hood from them....if what they bring with them looks good. The show price for the hood last year was $318.00, and I could have taken it home then. Hopefully I will have the same opportunity this year. Corvette America will also be there.

There will be several performance machine shops represented this year, and I hope to strike a deal for doing some work on the 454.

Sounds good, Bill. Keep up the work but most importantly...have fun! :D

Yallervette - as is sometimes the case when searching past threads for info, you've stumbled across an old post and likely won't get a reply from the orignal poster.
Good luck with your search!
