I am having periodic problem with my 77 Corvette. After the car has been running for a some time and it's shut off, the starter will not engage. All other electrical functions work fine. After letting it set for some time (10-30) minutes, it normally fires right up. When the switch is turned on, the car acts like it is not in Park or neutral (indicator lights come on, radio and A/C work, etc.). I have changed the alternator and battery; had the starter checked. A "Corvette Guy" told me that the mid 70's Corvettes had issues with wiring getting hot and cutting out. The issue is intermittent; we have not been able to cause it to repeat when we have any diagnostic equipment available to test it out.
