Was just on the way home from the body shop (looks great!!) and pulled over to the side of the road to check under the hood .. . got back in to start it and . . .nothing!! Had it towed home (thanks Haggerty!) and charged the battery fully . . still nothing. All connections are good and tight . . . they did a frame off . . could a grounding strap missing have something to do with this?? What other things should I check . . absolutely no electrical action at all . .no dome lights etc. Its a 64 small block. Thanks in advance!!

There are two main harness block connectors on the firewall near the steering column. They connect through the firewall to the fusebox. One of the two came loose on my car last summer and I lost a number of circuits. You might wish to take a peek at yours.

As Paul mentioned, these are important connections. They're just below the steering column and towards the driver's side. When I replaced all my wiring harnesses, I found that the terminals in these connectors were quite oxidized.

Ground straps are not very important in these cars. How do I know? I've got a full package of brand new ones to install someday. ;) I have none installed now.

Check both ends of both battery cables to make sure the connections are clean and shiny, then check these two connectors Bob mentioned for bad terminals - the inboard connector has the big 12-gauge red wire that's the main power feed for the whole car, and its terminals are frequently oxidized/corroded. :)
