There are plenty of C3s out there to buy especially the later years. Updating technology is not that hard to do to our cars its just a matter of how many $$$ you have burning a hole in your pocket and whether or not you drink the NCRS punch--not a bad thing mind you, but not everything old is worthy of preservation. As to restos put out by major car companies, I think its lame. Time marches on and GM is pitiful enough as a company. Outside the Vette, trucks and a few Caddies the vast majority of vehicles they produce are not competitive with other companies' offerings and consumers are voting with their feet and $$$ mostly going elsewhere. Instead of firing 25,000 worker how about firing top management or at the very least pay them commensurate with the company's performance. As their market share sinks like a proverbial stone it would be only more pitiful if they fell back on rehashing old styling ideas. Time marches on and even though I have no interest in owning a new Vette (way too dependable, gas mileage too high, too many creature comforts including no butt fatigue on long drives, handles too well, not hot enough in the summer, the list goes on--all in all it makes me strong to deal with the discomfort and weekly glitches my 34 yr old car seems to constantly throw my way) I think the C6 is awesome and a very worthy successor to the earlier generations. Even more remarkable is that such a car was produced in the f***** up corporate culture that is 21st century GM. There is nothing quite like a bumper shark for style and the fact that their time has past only adds to their beauty, they are my hands down favorite. As to building new old vettes I vote a NO. Now a 1961 409/409 SS Impala or a 62 Catalina super duty, that would be a different story!
