I am looking for a 59-62 fuelie with docs or NCRS or Bloomington judging credentials. Hardtop a plus. All colors considered. Any information will be appreciated. Private sellers are my first choice.

I remember you saying your Dad's '59 was a fuelie but you never said it was Classic Cream!! do you know how rare that car was? There were only 89 Classic Cream/white cove Corvettes built. A '59 only color. How many do you think were fuelies? Not many I'd guess. Most Classic Creams I have seen were base motors or powerglides. This is probably one of only a few Classic Cream feulies built.

As you can tell, I like the color. My '59 was a color real close to that when I bought it. Every time I think my mind is made up to paint my car back to it's original all black I see a Classic cream car and I know that is what I really want.

There's a weird story behind that car... My dad got it 2 years old used, and he seemed to believe it had been possibly repainted but wasn't sure. Story goes, it was bought for "Kippie" DuPont in Delaware (yes, the same as the DuPont company), and that person traded it in on something else new. But, supposedly the car was ordered with that color scheme b/c it matched the "family colors" (well la-dee-dah...)- So, it was probably built totally custom. On top of that, he believed the fuel injection unit to be off of another car. He didn't have it long enough to research, because a year later he traded it in on a brand new '62 that he drove off the dealer showroom floor. Now, if he'd only kept either one of those cars... 8^]
