I will see it next week I will share the Vin# and take a few Pics, The owner says he has owned it for 5 years and has done nothing to it. It ran like a timex watch.

Let says it's a number 3 car what would be a fair price, Numbers matching vs Non-Numbers matching.

Wondering if it is a Canadian car.

If it's NOT, beware of the hassle to bring it to Canada.

Good luck.

I have heard that the 69 BB came in many configurations in HP output. Is there a site were I can view on how to ID a 69 BB via it’s Vin#

Hi George...let me reply to this post as you would if someone else posted it..

" Why would anyone buy an automatic Vette? Anybody that knows anything about cars would never buy one. The 4 speed cars are worth more in the long run. If you want to be a sissy and drive an automatic, then go buy some cheap-crap import car."

Was that pretty close?:D

A 69 Big Block is sufficiently rare to be very desireable if it becomes available. If it is a nice car then go for it. Mine is currently an Automatic and I have every intention of putting in a Manual Gearbox when funds allow. I do not regret buying my car. I have only had it for 6 months and have had to make some restoration so the Gearbox will have to wait, but maybe next year.

I Just received bad news on the 69-BB

I just got a call from the shop that inspected the 69 BB and here is what they said:

A) Frame rusted real bad, no holes but very weak in 5 places
B) Oil leakes in rear of engine and at the rear-end, heater core disconnected, Rad has very small leak
C) Shop also said this was not an orginal BB, The engine appears to be re-stamped and the Trany and rear end are 100% re-stamped

I called the owner and he claims this is all news to him. If the frame was in good shape I would have still bought the Vette at a discount $$$$ of my orginal offer. I guss I will continue to look. Quick lesson here get a pro to inspect an old vette. Best $100 I have spent
