Hope the upload worked. Time for a new dash harness.

I WAS thinking about just leaving the car and the new harness at VNV's house and picking it up on Christmas Day, all put together. Gee, what a nice Holiday present that would have been, Mark.:D

Thought I would also post a picture titled "Mark's Fault". Or, how one afternoon at VNV's house gives me fuel line envy. Had to rip out the hard line and go with the pretty colors. :eek

kid
since you are already taking part of the car apart for this, just keep going and swap in that new BB motor.........
wait, do I hear something??
yes i do........ it's that new 572BB in the crate calling your name. It's saying "buy me, buy me"

;LOL

Believe me, I am damn sorry I rebuilt the small block. Depending on the financial situation in the near futre, either I go with another zz454 or I add a blower to the small block.

I need to lie down till this passes.

As it is, I bought an electric water pump and DeWitt's fan for the liddle block for Christmas.

Nuthin' like the low end grunt of a big block, though.

Actually, I think an LS1 or LS6 with a Vortec blower or maybe a Magnuson would be a fantastic swap. Light, responsive, torgue on demand and good mileage too boot. Couple this with a 5 speed and you have a long range fun car:D

Gheez, maybe I need to go lay down 'til this passes too;LOL

(Note to self) Breathe deep......

I will not spend more money........
I will not spend more money........
I will not spend more money........
I will not spend more money........

OOOOHHHHMMMMMMMMM...............

Take care,
Brian

just the fact that you are on this forum means....FORGET IT....thou shalt spend until it hurts...and then spend some more......

thanks for the replies, guys......

OK, John...you and Mark are the best researchers I've seen on the topic of corvettes...so, which hood could i use to fit a tall block in a mid year?

which hood could i use to accomodate the weiand 144 blower on the small block?

will the vortech centrifugal supercharger fit in the smallblock '65 with a '67 big block hood?...will the supercharger clear the wheel wells?

...and BarryK thought I was kidding....John, either we work on a tall block or we futz with a supercharger but i feel myself slipping into another decision here..........................................

:bu

Oh, I forgot...I realigned the coupe's door the other weekend and dagnabbit if i didn't chip the paint at the front of the door...not a big deal to me, i'll wait till the spring and shoot it with the air brush....thanks AGAIN to JohnZ for instructions on the door alignment....as it turns out, the screw that holds the driver's side lower window track chewed through the fiberglass at the rear of the door so i had to fab aluminum stops and jbweld it all together inside the door...i cut an access hole in the door 'glass behind the door planel to get at the window track....another reason why i'll be loading the airbrush with naussau blue come this spring..

by the way, anyone know of an internet source for Dynaglass, the blue hardener used for that stuff and also an internet source for SMP Panel Adhesive?

thanks

Kid,

There was a fellow that put a Vortech on his '65 Fuelie roadster a while back. It was featured in one of the corvette mags about 2 to 3 years ago. He managed to fit it under the hood and if I remember correctly it did not affect the wheel wells either.

Take care,
Brian

thanks brian

thanks

That is a great article on the blown 65 -- HOWEVER -- I still feel that a crate BB is the way to go. Remember how nice Mark's started that day. I didnt get to hear yours run yet -- I bet it started and runs just as well. Reliability is the name of the game in my opinion especially in lieu of our age and work schedules. It's easy -- unpack crate, drop in engine, drive.

Kid,

It is never too late. There is always someone looking for a good small block to transplant into their vette. Put it up for sale and order a big crate of "CUBIC FUN" :D

Take care,
Brian

Don't do it Kid!!!!
Mark is going to buy you a big 572BB motor as a xmas gift for you. But don't tell him I told you because it's suppose to be a surprise!!
Actually, I think he is still deciding between the 572 and the Shaffiroff 640 motor but he seems to be leaning towards the 572 only because he doesn't wants yours to be TOO much bigger than his.
you know, the motor envy thing.............
;LOL ;LOL ;LOL ;LOL

Oh God!!!

What a Christmas present! Aw geez, VNV, you're quite a guy. :_rock Tell you what, just have THIS sent to your garage, in care of me -> http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/1579/products/243825/572-Cubic-Inch-650-HP-Fuel-Injected-Street-Warrior-Series-Custom-Crate-Engine-Assembly.htm

The next time my POS small block breaks down, I'll coast right into your driveway, just like normal, and then we can do the swap on your property. Only a matter of a few days, really.

Yup, that's me. A street warrior. Just one question. Do you think it comes with A/C?
