I am busy hacking up a set of L98 fuel rails and trying to get them to fit my LT1 intake. So far so good, but I think I am just going to use a pair of LT1 rails and be done with it.

I did cut the end off this one rail. This is the end where the 3/8" feed line comes in.

I want you to look close a the picture. What you are looking at is the other side of the fitting block that holds the inlet for the 3/8" hard line flowing into the rail.

Here you can see the inlet side.

That hole is smaller than 3/16"! That is where all the fuel comes into the rails. Can you believe it?

at around 40 psi i wouldn't think you would need a big hole.

Unbelievable:bash :D

Just got great news from EAGLE on the motor, now I gotta make a decision between the SR and LT1 intake:crazy . Might be a dilema:cool

How big does the opening really have to be? Fuel injector nozzles aren't that big...

Saw an L98 with an LT1 intake at Carlisle. Looked like he had totally custom fuel rails (or had hacked up LT1 ones). Need to check the digital camera; I think I got a picture of it.

hmmm, actually, if you'd think about it this way, when you turn on a water hose and with your finger block some of the opening with it, you'll notice that the presure is increased and the water flow travels further, when your trying to squirt somebody while your involved in a water fight.

Yes...that would be excellent!!!!!!!!!!

Moonunit....Great news!

From what I can tell, the LT1 and Miniram are more or less the same exact thing! If I can make the LT1 work for a couple of hundred dollars, I will have less in it than just the fuel rail kit on the miniram.

The super ram will make more torque, but I am not interested in that considering I am already running 383 cubes.

Yeah, it doesn't really need to be that big.

Think of it this way. Let's say you get 20MPG, and you're travelling at 60mph. You only need to flow 1 gallon of gas in 20 minutes. That's a pretty small amount. That's only 6 ounces of gas every minute, less than 1 cup!

Nuts. I have about 6 pictures that didn't save right (ie, zero kb files) and that appears to be one of them (also my shots of the corral on the hillside). Sorry, guy. I do have one of a 4x4 midyear and a chromed-to-an-inch-of-its-life L98...

The small hole makes sense to me. As the fuel gets closer to the cylinder, you'd want to accelerate it. The faster it's already moving by the time it reaches the injector, the better it's going to spray.

You can see the same progression of smaller openings internally in your shower head, too. Without them, the water would just kinda gurgle out rather than spraying.
