z rated tires

Why put them on my car....do you have to? I know they are great but I don't drive it all that fast and wanted to know if anyone has put anything else on their corvette, mine is a 1995

I have the Firestone SZ50's on my 88'. The reason why you would go with the Z rated tire probably isn't because of the 186+MPH stop speed. But they also disapate heat better, which is a serious factor because tires heat up tremendously when you're driving.

I don't think you can find tires that fit a late C4 that aren't speed rated at some level at or above 149.

What tires are you looking at?
