I am mustering enough money by time in the summer next year I should be able to buy a 2002 Z06 without having to take out a loan. It funny how salesmen at dealership look at me funny when I want to look at a Z06 on their lot, I could take out a loan right now in all actuality, but the Nebraska Winter is fast approaching and I wouldnt drive it then anyways. But, Around how much would insurance cost for a 19/20 year old male without any police record history?

conservatively around $2800/year

insurance

I am 52 years old with a fairly clean driving record. I pay about $100/month for full coverage and well above the minimum liability amounts.

the original poster stated he was 19/20 so he will be "handicapped" because he is under 25 and "probably" not married - siginificant hits in the insurance business - you and I as "old farts" have "multiple car discounts", etc. that decrease our premiums way below what I conservatively estimated the original poster will probably end up paying

Of course, you are correct about age, etc. That is just what I pay, under my circumstances.

I hear you - I have four cars on my insurance policy and pay around $1100 every six months for the four, which includes a 2001 Z06

Your rate is dependant on many things besides your age and record. Number of cars on policy, where you live, work or store the car and even credit history. An insurance agent is the only one who will be able to give you an accurate quote and they should be happy to do this for you.

I believe you should even be able to get a quote or two online. Call a few agents in your area. That's the only way you can get an accurate quote.

Well, im taking a year off of schooling before I head down to Houston for a school down there. So ill be working non-stop, basically cuz there is nothing to do in Central Nebraska, or Nebraska for that matter! :D I already have a 99 Camaro SS that is gunna go to get the Z06 (In my name). No other cars will be on my policy and im not married (even if I had a G/F i doubt I could afford a Corvette ;) ) Im expecting a pretty high insurance rate even if it is up in $350/month range :D But I would be gladly to pay that! So it gives me motivation to get up and work every morning! :L I thought about spending countless $$$ into the SS and make it a fast street car. But, I dont street race, I havent even hit above 3500 rpms in the SS. Only If the insurance companies put that in as a factor!

Get a price quote for owning two cars.

It may be cheaper if you buy a hunk of junk car for a hundred bucks, register it and park it. Insure it for minimum liablity. Tell the insurance company it is you primary car and that you drive the Z06 less than 7000 miles per year. You'll get around a 10% discount for low miles and 20% for multi-car discount. (Plus the usuall discounts for alarm, air-bag, anti-lock brakes, etc.) Two cars may end up being cheaper than one Z06 by itself.

You can also see if the your parent's insurance company will work out a family discount. I did this for my son. I listed him as a driver on one of my cars for a year then they wrote him a policy in his name at a discount when he bought a car because he had a history with them.
