He even showed me the GM codes inside the car of the optional Callaway conversion. Very impressive car!!!!!!
I'm betting that puppy moves out smartly! Love the color too.

It started to rain real hard so

most people didn't show up. I think I got some other pictures. But not too many vettes showed up at the cruise-in. But seeing the Corvette Callaway was well worth the time spent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The owner said that

the car was running a little over 500 hp and like 680 pounds of torque. The sound of it was amazing. The car looked brand new!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the benefit of those who don't frequent the Edge, I went to my first Corvette Show yesterday, a dealer appreciation show for the Colorado Springs Corvette Social Club at Al Serra Chevrolet. Pretty cool event- we had 70 cars there.

I originally posted these pics in the Edge, but BV is right- they should be posted here, too. These first two are of the car that won best C5. Originally, a 2000 coupe that the owner has invested $120,000 in aftermarket stuff. The paint scheme on the hood is continued around the sides and back. But what's really interesting about this ride is the fact that the stock engine, tranny, airflow system, just about everything has been replaced with a big 427 Cubic Inch powerplant. Man, did that thing make noise!

He trailered the car in, and as soon as he fired up the engine, it was almost a given he'd win best C5.

Curses! Why aren't these pictures loading?

Here's some pics of an '03 Anniversary Edition Vert that caught my eye.

And how could I forget my pal, 67Heaven? This car and I share the same birth year. :D

Patrick, I wonder if it is because those were attachments in the edge? It made me login again, then I could view them :hb
Anyway- what a sweet paint job.

I do prefer it in black. I did see one in black before but can't find it.

All I can find is this:

OH! Me likey! Where can I rent that? It would have come in real handy when I took my date to see "Oliver" at the DCPA a few months ago. Although, she's not really a Corvette fan, she does like limos. Then again, so do I- I have an excursion booked later this week. :D

Okay, now that my gallery is up and running, time to see if I can post post some pics from it.

Here's an interesting still shot. In May, my local club did a "Drive & Dine," essentially, a group outing where we meet, take a predetermined route, and end the day with an early dinner at some restaurant. On this particular occasion, we started in Colorado Springs and headed south to Pueblo on I-25. From there, we took Highway 50 west and got off on some local roads working our way into Florence. After another pit stop, we got back on the road and did our turn through Hardscrabble Pass into Westcliff, and then connected with the road to Texas Creek. We completed the circuit by then heading east on Highway 50 back into Canon City, where we had dinner.

The story on this pic is that after we reconnected with Highway 50 near Texas Creek, the lead in our group pulled us over with the idea that he would try to get us permission to cross over the bridge at the Royal Gorge. (Sadly, they were not going to give us a group discount, and a $14 per car, we decided to pass.) Unfortunately, with the canyon we were in, his cell phone wasn't working, so the lead in our group had to make a u-turn and head back up the road to a rest stop to make a call on a land line to find out the bad news. This pic was taken just as he started to floor it, with the rest of us lined up on the far side of the road.

Interesting- a fraction of a second either way, and I'd have missed having his black coupe in the pic at all.

CURSES! Why won't these things post? Tammy, am I doing something incorrectly?
EDIT: Patrick, I added the necessary codes to your link address. Begin with
b] and end with [b]
making sure to leave no spaces.

Whoa! That 288 GTO is drop-dead-gorgeous. But is that the venerable '62 250 GTO sitting next to it? Be still my beating heart!

Hi Z -

Yup!!!! Great eye! I got shots of that one at the track - it was difficult to get pics at the concours due to the people milling about (I had to photochop a *lady* out of the 288 shot...)
