How much do you think a 2002 red/black Z06 is worth? It was bought back by the dealer under Calif. Lemon Law. That will be permanent on the title. The reason was something about excessive oil consumption. Dealer claims it was fixed. I might make an offer on it.

Thanks.

Mileage is 5000 to 7000. I forget exactly.

Be wary. Remember that the dealer had multiple opportunities to fix it and didn't before the Lemon Law took effect...if you make an offer, make it OBSCENE!

You better believe, it will be below lowest book you can find, otoh I'll be keeping it for a long time (probably) so not too worried re: resale.

Just me, but I'd want enough margin to be able to replace the motor and not lose my butt if I had to sell it. I talking very (un) reasonable price with the dealer. Anyone with other thoughts? Andy

Edmunds puts the dealer trade in value @ 41,500 NOT counting the fact of a lem law title.

I'm thinking low 30's???

The dealer was asking $47 something, I laughed so hard people were turning around to see what was going on.

First I would find out how excessive the oil consumption was and what the final fix was. I would also price a new Z06 engine. take the price of the engine and subtract it from the cars "loan or wholesale value",then figure labor and thats what I would offer. At 47K they are almost back at MSRP. My gut feeling is if I were looking at it I would offer somewhere between 29-32k. just my .02

Hey,
Offer them $15,000.00 to take it off their hands. After they stop laughing, tell them you'll be back, and when they realize they can't sell it to anybody, tell them you'll take $15,000.00 to remove it from their lot. ;LOL
Stranger things have happened.
