Not that long ago, you had to get in line and pay extra for a Z06, not now.

Yesterday, I was at my favorite dealer picking up my '06 Coupe from the service department (routine stuff) and noticed that they had 6 or more Z06s on the lot waiting for someone to come along and offer them a decent price. I made a totally flippant offer for one to a salesman and there was a long pause before he said something about working from that number. I wonder how low they will go on Z06s now?

I really wish I was in the market, but........

a dealer by me has one for 65K
;shrug who knew two years ago that would be the case
but I have to say I've enjoyed my "meager" 400hp the past two years:Steer

65K.... Wow....
I was at my local dealer ship in my 1982 and they offered me the great deal of $5,000 over sticker plus $1,900 for my C3 (i know it is only an '82, but still).
I told him there was no way I would pay above sticker, and they called me the next day saying they would let it go for $77,000 ($3k below sticker).

If they had gone down to $65k I would be having a very long conversation with my wife right now.....

Guess it just depends on the dealership and how bad they want to lower inventory.

Last year my buddy paid $3K over....it was a take it or leave it.

dealers have to "take" 6 ZO-6s to get a ZR1 because the ZO-6s are not selling.

There are 5 sitting at my usual dealer here in Vegas. We had 2 Bill Heard dealerships here in Vegas that went under last month. I don't know what happened to their inventory but they did have a ZR1. I have a very good friend that worked at the Bill Heard dealership as a shop foreman. He didn't hear a thing until the day they told him to go home. When I pull onto the lot there are at least 10-12 salesmen waiting to pounce. Very scary times for the auto industry right now.

One can check dealer inventory numbers by going to www.jeffhardy.com.

Last time I checked there were over 5,000 new 09's sitting at dealerships.

I believe it's updated daily.

Zippy, Great link. Thanks. I found what I was looking for :beer

I think you can buy for almost any number they do not want to carry through winter. Jeff Hardy's list keeps getting longer

My 06 2LZ Z has 3800 miles on it, so I fiqured that I might try to make an offer for a 3LZ 08 new. He was biting at $60K pretty hard untill I told him I need $54K for my 06 as a trade. The orginal owner of my Z paid $85K new and I bought my it last May for $60K. Maybe if I wait a few more months he will come back to me with my offer?
