We'll I managed to do it, I got a set of J55 brakes, and will be getting a set of Z07 springs/bars from 92 with a blown engine. Everything to do the complete swap out on my 93 that is FX3 only at this time. No LCA bushings as the donor car has 227K on it. I think I'll be fine with my 60K bushings for the time being. I'm going poly in the future anyhow. Once I get this stuff on the car, will it sit about the same, higher, or lower? Ground clearance wise as well as wheel to fender gap? I'm getting the Z07 shims for the springs so I can set it up according to the FSM. Reason I ask is, with having the car apart it would be a good time to lower it some if the Z07 does not let the car sit lower. One other question is the shock tuning on the FX3 shocks the same for the Z07 and FX3 suspensions? I would assume so, but you know what they say about assumptions.

rubie, I think that the shocks are the same. I'll say this, I think my 94 Z07 sat a little higher than the regular FE1. I think that you'll like the improved handling that the Z07 gives you.

You're a brave man going with poly bushings.

I think the sympathetic resonance that's inherent in C4 (exhaust in particular) will be worse with the body sitting on hard plastic, instead of rubber...

I put poly bushings in a CJ7 many years ago - FINELY tuned machine. I replaced them the next weekend with rubber. It was like a different machine.

I think the problem is you can't get replacement rubber bushings any more for the C4?,.....as far as I know the only thing available is poly.
I'd prefer rubber bushings any day over poly.

The reason for the swap is increased handling capabilities. I've done over a full season of auto-x now with the stock FE1 springs/bars and the FX3 shock package. I'd gain a LOT in handing with the Z07 setup. Poly is way more durable than rubber, and you cannot find rubber unless its NOS control arms. WAY more expensive to stay rubber than go to poly as well. I hope the car does not sit higher. The rear end is easy to lower if I need to. I'm more worried about the front end. Also, I was glancing thru the FSM last night it mentions different mounting shims for the springs front/rear according to spring color code. How do I know which color code my spring is? There are variations with the shim packs within the same spring package FE1/Z07.
