The question is, will the Bilstein Z51 shocks work well on a Corvette that came with the base suspension? My 1996 came with the base suspension and I would like to know if the Z51 Bilsteins will complement the other components of the base suspension (sway bars, springs, etc.), or will I have to stick with the base suspension Bilsteins to get the best ride with my car. The base setup seems a bit soft to me and the car seems to float a bit (this might be sway bar related). Anyway, I want to begin to tighten it up a bit and shocks seem like an easy place to start. Opinions. Thank you in advance.

Yes they will work and stiffen the ride up some. The floating is more springs and shocks not sway bar.
