Zaino--good as they claim?

Am thinking about buying the zaino polish products. Read all they claim about how good their products are if applied according to strict directions & would like to here from anyone who has tried zaino. Seems as if this product may actually work as they say but only if applied properly. Anyone compared it to a less expensive, less complicated product & got as good results?

The product is amazing. It works great. Yes there are directions/instructions you should follow to get the results. But really its not a "complicated"product to use.
Well worth it.

I had made the switch from Zymol to Zaino, I should’ve done it much sooner. Zaino is a quality product, pricey, but I feel you get what you pay for. Easy-on, easy-off, I am sold on Zaino and will stay with it.

I have read good things here on the CAC about Mequires NXT, but I have not tried it, probably won’t because Zaino far exceeded my expectations. The entire product line has me satisfied. The deep luster that my car now has is where I’ve tried to get it for years.

I've used both and it's a dead heat between the two. This sort of thread gets going at least once or twice a year and all the Zaino & Mequires zealots will start climbing out of their cervices. Always fun to watch - get ready - here we go again.

Agreed Remo,

There are many fine products for car care; just as important as using a quality product for your Corvette’s paint is using the proper materials to apply/remove the wax/polish. There is IBIZ, Liquid Glass, etc., just a matter experimentation and personal preference.

Those that use it, like myself, will swear it is the best thing they've ever used. I've used Mequires (still do on my truck) and many other's, but since trying it, I won't use anything but Zaino on my Vette. As someone else already stated, this topic comes up a couple of times a year, normally always splitting between whether or not Zaino is any better then the others. One thing to keep in mind is that many of those (not all) that say Zaino isn't any better then Mequires (or others) have never tried it. My advice is give it a try and see what you think.

What about Liquid Glass? It's been around awhile but it still does the job!

Okay Zaino is good to and I use many of their products but I still use Liquid Glass on all my cars instead of Z1/Z2.

Liquid Glass is good. Like I tried to say in my previous post, for every one person that thinks Zaino is the best, there's someone else who will say there's something they like just as well or better. It all comes down to individual choice.

Zaino is a quality product, no doubt. As are many other products. What you need to find is one that matches what you consider favorable in a protectant. What are you using now, and what would you like to improve about it? What is it about Zaino you find appealing, or is it just that everyone talks about it?

I have a closet full of quality products that I'm sure many people love, but they just don't match up with what my particular feelings are about what I want from a protectant. That doesn't mean the products I don't use aren't good, it's just everyone has a different opinion.

It would help to know what you are looking for from a product, or what it is you are unsatisfied with about your current product. But if you've got to try something, you've got to try it. So have fun with it!

I used LiquidGlass in the past (10-15 years ago), but I stopped using
it years ago when I noticed I wasn't getting the same results.
I don't know if they changed the formula, but the shine wasn't
as deep, wouldn't last as long, and streaked when applying.

I used Zaino until I ran out . I loved it and would use it again if I had more . The only problem is , you have to mail order it . I would rather just go into a store and buy it . Cliff

I switched to Zaino a couple of years ago because of all the hype it got in the forum's. I have used many products but none have performed like Zaino has. I have not tried NXT. It may be just as good or better than Zaino I dont know. I like the ease that Zaino goes on and comes off. Last year when I was re-ordering from Zaino I got some leather treatment and plastic polish. They are great both of them. This summer I also tried the tire shine. Nothing works better on tires. It is non greasy, dries completely so it wont sling off, and still shines after several washings. What I like best about the tire shine is it does not have the "over done" greasy mess look like some other tire products have. On top of that you dont have to wipe down the car to get the tire sh!t off the paint when you get home from a show. Zaino is pricey but what the heck it's only money and you get more every two weeks!

I love Zaino.

I used it first on my Avalanche when I bought it. I got a lot of compliments on it. I probably have about 9 coats on it now. I zainoed the C5 as soon as I got it. It added a lot of depth to it. I have 2 coats on it now, and hope to get 2 more on before it gets to cold. The first application is a lot of work. After that its real easy. I can wash and Zaino in a little over an hour now.

I use it and like it. I would recomend clay bar first, then start the Zaino process. I buy what ever I need when I go to carlisle every year. It last a long time, so not really that exspensive. Good luck, Guy

I put 14 coats on mine in one sitting. That was a year and a half ago. The Z wash brings it right up to the shine at initial application. It looks spectacular on darker colors. The leather stuff is great too. Can't see changing with these results over the years.

WOW! Maybe my neighbors are right, and I am nuts. It takes me at least 1.5 hours to thoroughly wash my car, and it's taken me up to 3 hours depending on who stops to BS. Yup, that's just to wash it! My neighbors claim that I'm gonna wash the paint off it.

How much does this stuff cost, and can you apply it in direct sunlight, or does it have to be applied in shade?

Every few years, the polishing products run through a popularity cycle. Quite frankly I don't see the difference between one product and another. A few years ago it was "Mother's" this and "Mother's" that, that's all you heard: Mothers, Mothers, Mothers. Then a few years before that it was Meguiars, everyone kept talking incessantly about Meguiars. So in a few years, something else will replace Zaino.

Don't stop at 14 - I hear that the 15th coat makes a hugh difference.

5 Z5, 5 Z2, 4Z6. #15 through 20 are on schedule for Nov winter garage fun. Remo, I'll never forget your comment regarding how proud I was of the paint on my old C4 as in NO orange peel. And no I didn't "get out of town" then either!

I think a process that deals with molecular interaction with the clear coat surpasses a wax or polymer coating. Been rubbing on cars for 30 years. What do I know?
