5 Z5, 5 Z2, 4Z6. #15 through 20 are on schedule for Nov winter garage fun. Remo, I'll never forget your comment regarding how proud I was of the paint on my old C4 as in NO orange peel. And no I didn't "get out of town" then either!

I think a process that deals with molecular interaction with the clear coat surpasses a wax or polymer coating. Been rubbing on cars for 30 years. What do I know?
Tim - you know me - I couldn't resist. Nice to hear from you. All is well out here in New England. Except it's getting cold and the Vette season is coming to a close. Maybe I can get one more coat of NXT on it before the snow flys.

Remo:cool

Um, are you serious? What molecular interaction is taking place? If you just mean attractive bonding, I'm not sure I'd call that an "interaction". You make it sound like putting Z on will chemically alter your clearcoat.

I'm not sure too many things can interact with a catalyzed clearcoat, at least not in a good way. Even more paint, like overspray, can be removed from catalyzed automotive paint.

According to the Zaino salesman I got mine from , down at the sharkfest a couple of years ago , Zaino IS a polymer . Cliff

Can this stuff be applied in direct sunlight???
Can anyone provide cost and dealer/supplier information?
Thanks in advance.

Remo, sorry to hear about the looming hibernation. We know you love your vette. Kiss her goodnight for me.

JJS, go to www.zainobros.com and look around.

The molecular interaction is polymer based within itself with first coat adhesion to the clear coat to clarify for the scientists among us. I only know the stuff is shiney and doesn't wear off. The leather stuff smells like....leather. Good products. Bye

This stuff sounds great. Checked out their site. Is it necessary/worth it to use the ZFX ingredient along with the polish? Am thinking the Z2 is what I should use. One other question-- am going to the Vettefest in Chicago in a couple weeks. Do they sell Zaino at these shows? Buying there would save the shipping charge.

I don't use the ZFX, don't think it is necessary. Someone will probably have a booth at Vettefest. I get mine at Carlisle. Good Luck, Guy

You use the FX for 2 reasons. First you can use it on your initial aplication, and it saves you on one of the preps. The second reason you would use FX is if you were going to apply more than one coat in a 24 Hr. period. I use it for that reason. When I get to apply it, I try to put on at least 2 coats. I have to take advantage of detail time when I can get it. Otherwise my 4 yr. old wants to help. I love the stuff. I have 2 coats on the C5 now and plan on maybe 4 more before the weather here in Jersey really turns. I probably have more than 9 coats on my Avalanche now, and it stays outside. Still looks great. Of course, it's not as clean now as it used to be. I keep cleaning the Vette now. I think the only thing Sal sells that I haven't used is the tire dressing. The leather in a bottle is awesome.

I have used Zaino on my cars for the past 3 years. I am extremely happy with the results. The first time you apply it, it can be rather extensive because you might need to wash, claybar, high speed buff, etc depending on the condition of your paint. Get it as perfect as you can before your first coat of Zaino.

All the vehicles I have put it on have been new or relatively new and didn't need extensive prep. I started with several coats of Z5 swirl/scratch remover followed by several coats of Z2 polish. The key is to apply lots of coats, THIN coats. If you pile it on like carnuba, you'll be cussing when trying to remove it.

Some people say Zaino gives a "plasticky" shine, but I don't think it does. Zaino is very durable. My vehicle are garaged, so I'd do a quick coat of Zaino 3-4 times a year. That is with being washed every 1-2 weeks as needed.

On my Lightning, I had about 8 coats (4 of each) and the paint looked wet and very deep. Once I find a Vette, it will be Zaino'd once I get the paint to near perfection.

Yes, I just did a coat on my 04 Avalanche this weekend in the Florida sun. I normally do it in the garage, but it went fine in the sun.

Well I went to Vettefest and looked all over the place for Zaino. They weren't there- unless I missed them because I was entranced by all the extremely nice, nice cars. Will have to order from their site.
While my car has a shine you can use as a mirror, the Zaino sounds like the next best step.

Every time I have ordered from the website directly, I always get it delivered in less than 1 week. They are pretty quick.
