The Zaino just arrived. I got all the stuff, claybar, wash, Z-2,5,7, etc. Looking forward to starting the application process...and I hear it's a long one. I have a couple questions if anyone out there has any experience.

1. My Vette is brand new...should I wait a while before Zaino-ing? Clear coat curing time???

2. Having trouble finding Cannon and Fieldcrest towels in stores and on-line. Read on Zaino.com that they are no longer making them. Does anyone have any good ordering websites, or alternative 100% USA cotton towels that they use? I hear that pure Egyptian cotton is good too. ?

3. Where should I put the Zaino sticker on my Vette?? :)

Thanks

They have precut 100% cotton towels that are sewn at the edges with cotton. I spoke with them and they were very knowledgeable in regards to tips and basic general info. I suggest using them..

In regards to #1, your paint will be cured when it leaves the factory. Factory paints are baked and cure much faster. Aftermarket painting doesn't tend to get baked, and has a cure time. You can Zaino right away.

Also, Zaino now recommends some microfiber towels in addition to 100% cotton ones. But you can get some nice 100% cotton towels from meguiars.com, and they even toss in a foam app or two. :)

Try Wal-Mart for towels. The only 'must' is 100% cotton and 'Made in USA'

Zaino away. When cars are new, that's the bes time to do it, before the paint has a chance to get messed up. Our 04 Avalanche has 1900 miles and 4 coats of Zaino.

The first coat and the prep is the hardest part. Be sure to wash with dawn (or some dish soap) to remove wax, etc. Then claybar if needed, get the paint perfectly smooth. Then start with some Z5 to get any light swirls out. I have done 2-4 coats of Z5 and then moved on to the Z2. My cars usually get 4-8 coats total. You'll be amazed with the shine.

Hey Buster,

How did it work? You did put the Zaino sticker on your toolbox....right?

I think Zanio is easy to use - much easier than thick waxes. You don't need much , and it buffs off without any hassles. I only use about 1 1/2 oz for our C5.
