Hi guys im new to the site i have a 84 vette with the newer style c4 bumpers on it and also a zf 6 speed in it from a newer c4 that is atached to my l83 cross fire motor. The problem is i need to replace the clutch and don't know what i need to buy to get this mismatched combination to work with out taking it apart to find out.:confused

thanks for the info i was thinking about a twin disk clutch and the zf i have is a black tag, is that some thing i can get on summit racing? or something and what do i need to type in the search bar to find it 1990 corvette?

Because the ZF S6-40 was used with Gen 1 SBV8s in 89, 90 and 91, the clutch used in an installation on an 84 could be stock or common aftermarket parts with no special adapters needed.

As far as a two-plate clutch, it's pointless to go that route unless you've got a highly modified engine making 450 lbs/ft torque or more and, even then, you really don't need it until you get to 550 or so.

i plan on making it in to a 383 with close to that torque so its an option, and so basically i just type in a clutch for a 1990 vette for my car in the search bar and it will bolt up? if so that helps out a lot guys thanks
