Sure it will fit, but its going to cost big $$$

Wegone - The ZR-1's have a solar type windshield, don't they? Or am I confusing it with something else? Thanks.

not big money here in sweden

400 dollars if i take it on the cars glass insurance

BINGO So now am going to order one til'next week

The ZR-1 windshield is the same size as the windshield used on the standard Corvette. The only difference is the solar ray tinting used on the ZR-1's windshield.

I would advise against the use of a ZR-1 windshield. The's ZR-1's windshield is well known for having problems with delamination. They are expensive and there is no guarantee that the windshield will not delaminate.

Stay tuned for a technical article on this issue by me that will appear in the ZR-1 forum here.

RubyDropTop..Looks like Rob beat me to it.

swedvette.. Best price I'v seen in the US was around $900 to $1000+

Just priced one from GM to replace my pitted one, they are available in Michigan for 2,400.00 smackers. All my insurance adjuster could say was ZR-1 huh. quote: "They are what they are." Get one. I guess thats why we pay the bigger bucks to insure our Z's. 84 CF 91 ZR-1

I don't mean to sound too stupid....

but could someone please explain exactly what the solar windshield is in the ZR-1? What function/purpose does it serve? Thanks in advance. :D

it is for heat... ( and i have a feeling it was intended for a bit of protection from stones and things at 180 MPH)

Look at a ZR1, and you will notice a purple tint on the front glass... you can also see a cutout on the drivers side bottom for radar detectors and garage door openers.

Because of the size of the LT5 engine, the AC evaporator on the LT5 is smaller than on the standard Corvette. Therefore the cooling capacity of the LT5 is less than the standard Vette.

As a result, they tried to compensate by utilizing a special windshield that was coated with a solar ray protective coating that blocks the UV rays of the sun. The problem is that a reaction can occur between the glass and the coating thus causing delamination.

Okay....

Now I understand. :SLAP I was not aware that the ZR-1 had a more limited cooling capacity; thanks for explaining that. :)
