I was guardedly otimistic after doing a little research that this might be a gas cap issue and would go out after a reset of the cap and a couple cycles of starting and stopping the car. No such luck.

I guess the next step is to get a code reader and determine what codes have been put out. Can someone recomend a moderately proced code reader that will read and reset the codes? Is there some other functionality that I don't know about that I'm overlooking?

I noticed several work with the Apple products. I have an IPad, if there are any good ones.

Thanks.

Bob

I use an Actron 9580 I bought at Autozone. Does everything I need it to do, and easy to use.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I learned that Autozone will check your codes and/or loan you a reader and I'm on my way over there later today in any event.

Autozone checked it out for me. P0449. I did a little quick research and it seems its related to solenoid under the car that works with the evaporative system. I need to check a fuse and if ok, get under the car and pull it out.

If so PM me your Fax # :thumb:thumb:thumb

You might find as I did that you have been visited by a wire hungry rodent. My mechanic found a couple of wires badly chomped fixed them and no more codes.
