Grand Sport Rough start up on my GS...........

Since I bought my 2010 GS in July it has run rough on initial start up in the morning. I'm thinking its just cold and needs some time to get things sorted out which it does in about 15 seconds after the rpm's come down to idle. But when you first start it, it's gagging and puking and the tach and speedo needles are bouncing around on their sweep over to the right. After it warms up it's fine the rest of the day and pulls well without a hitch all the way up to redline.

Anyone else have that happen on their C6's or is that normal for a cold LS3?

That is not normal for any engine.

I would have a Chevrolet technician look at the problem. This way Chevy can document the issue. This is especially helpful if there are more serious problems in the future.

That's certainly not normal. I agree - take it in. Leave it overnight if they need a really cold start.

LT4man and carbert are right, I would take your GS to your local Chevrolet dealership to have this issue diagnosed.

No, its not normal.

I would be wanting to scan it first thing at start up and monitor the misfire data to determine what cylinder is creating the issue.

Its also possible that you have an injector issue based on mileage.

But its critical to have the system SCANNED when the problem happens.

Thanks for replying to this....I was going to get back to it but have not had the time.......We did scan it and it did not show anything wrong as it ran....They thought it may be an injector problem also and we agreed it would be wise to run a bottle or two of Techron through it to begin with. I did that and the problem has diminished to the point of only a slight miss for a second or two and then smoothes right out. Nothing like it was doing before. I have also had the oppertunity to put on some extended road miles at 80 plus miles per hour.

I will run another bottle through it and see if it continues to improve. Right now it is a ton better then it was.
