Wondering if anyone out there has installed a TKO, TKO2, TKO-500 or TKO-600 into their early c4. I am specifically interested in the TKO-600.

I am told the existing drive shaft is the correct length and that an offset shifter can be used to retain the same location. What I have no idea about is the crossmember.

anyone?

I have found this: http://www.5speedtransmission.com/c4_vette_3550.htmlI guess I was talking about the torque arm.. not "crossmember".

Also, considering this is supposed to hold up to 600 ft-lbs is this one of those trannys that kill your performance through excessive rotational mass?

I am considering this tranny over a used F-body t-56..A Richmond-6 is like half a millon dollars. A zf-6 is like a million dollars.

thanks,

-chris

Hi Chris,

How did you go with your Tremec Conversion?

I am doing the same with my 84 Coupe.

With the Aussie Dollar at the moment and import duties and taxes, I can't get Richmond to respond, and a ZF will cost me 2 millsion Aussie Dollars...:L
It is also older technology.
