Bad module? Bad ground? Connector come unplugged? Where is TCM for me to check this out?

Leon

I did pull the codes, that's how I know I have no communication with the TCM. ;) I will look at what other codes are currently thrown as well. Thanks for the reply.

Leon

HI there,
TCM meaning the traction control system?? 28-TCS?>?
Were you able to extract codes from the other systems in the vehicle and if so, please post each module and what codes were in those modules.
IT IS CRITICAL that you are exact with codes and modules for accurate diagnostics.
Allthebest, :bang

Yes, the TCS is not active. When I pulled codes before it read No Communication when getting to module 28-TCS. I will pull the codes and reply here. The instrument cluster currently has the traction system light on and the ABS light on and the DIC says Service Vehicle Soon when it's started. I will post codes in a few moments.

HI there,
This shows that you have a major issue with the module that controls all the safety features associated with the ABS system.
Now, depending on production, you could have the ABS system attached to your rear subframe or its in front of power steering pump and we will need to know that information next to continue.
Allthebest, :bang

Module is located in front of power steering pump. I took a look and found the culprit. I just had the water pump replaced and they failed to connect the TCS module correctly and the connector was loose. All is well now and my TCS and ABS lights are out.

Thanks for all the help. Should I clear the codes and see if anything new sets?

Leon

That's some impressive diagnostics you pulled off there Specialist. How much money do you think you just saved him?
Cool on you.

I’m getting this exact same thing. 2000 frc. Sadly my EBCM connector was secure. Any other thoughts?

Well...you've posted to a 7-year old thread. Not sure if c4c5specialist is going to post or not but, clearly, you have trouble with ABS/TCS.

Your PCM has DTCs P1571 and P1689 set and both are current.

P1571 is actually a TCS fault. The PCM doesn't receive a disired torque signal from the EBTCM so that code sets. P1689 is, also, a TCS related fault which sets when the delivered torque signal is not received from the EBTCM. U1040 tells you that the EBTCM is not communicating on the Class 2 serial data circuit.

That all three are current makes sense since there's no comm. with the EBTCM.

My suggestion is to acquire a Factory Service Manual and start diagnosing according to the Data Link Communications chapter on Vol. 3.
