My '03 Anniversary Red coupe, with just 5k miles, that I picked up just over 3 months ago was rear ended by a teenage boy yesterday. So now the entire rear fascia needs to be replaced. Does anyone have any recommendations for a body shop that can do this? I am in Jacksonville, but can take the car anywhere in Florida if I need to. Any help would be appreciated. ;shrug

So sorry to hear that, when I had my 02 my son was taking it to the dealer for an oil change and some ricer plowed into him in the rear. I had my dealer fix it they have a great body shop there and did a wonderful job. Might want to check out a dealer by you to start.

Bummer...

...sorry to hear about your accident, I'm sure she'll come out just fine.

Mine got hit a few years ago and I had the drivers side rear 1/4 panel and fascia replaced.

Sounds like yours was also a tailgating incident. This kid was driving a small Nissan pickup and hit me pretty hard. I have to say that the fascia/bumper on these corvettes is very durable. When I got out of the car I expected to see the entire backside crushed in, but there are only white paint scratches on the fascia. From a distance if you can't see the white paint, you could not tell it was even damaged. The resilience of the rear bumper is amazing.

Anyway, I do have a call into the local chevy dealer's collision department. I had to leave a message and they will call me back. Not real happy about that, but oh well.

Thanks for the reply...

I hit a cat at about 60MPH a couple of years ago. It broke the front bumper cover (not to mention the cat!). I used a local body shop that the dealer recommended to me. It came out just fine.

Thanks for posting that pic. It's a very informative view. I was wondering what kind of damage may have incurred inside that can't be seen until the rear fascia is removed. This pic of yours gives me a better idea of what's going on underneath.

Good luck! I had the same thing happen when I lived in FL. They will have to replace the bumper cover, the foam absorber and likely the metal bumper that attaches to the frame.

It was a 30 day process for mine but it looked good when it was all said and done.

I was at the shop almost every day for the 30 days it was there. I am sure you can find a reputable shop local to you in Jacksonville. Perhaps check out the local Corvette club and ask them for recommendations.

Looks like yours got hit lower. I got most of the damage up higher. I never even thought about the local corvette club. :duh Thanks for that reminder.

You might also check with some of the "higher end" custom shops. There's a custom tire and wheel shop here that I use to mount and balance my tires. I asked them and was recommended a little shop out in the sticks that I never would have found.

I'll check it out. Looks like I will be taking a day off from work to do some research. I really appreciate all of the helpful responses. :beer
