Slammed C5's

Original ride height?

A little info please. I recently purchased an 02' coupe and I'm not really sure if the car has been lowered or not. What is the stock height and where do I take the measurement? From the bottom of the air dam to the floor is approximately 3 1/4". Another dimension taken is from the top of the front tire to the bottom edge of the front fender is approximately 2 1/4.

zagger - I could be wrong - but the air dam looks stock.
The more I look at the picture and the frame savers the more I think you are wright. For the picture he placed the camera on the ground. The small curve on the surface makes it look lower then it probably is. None the less it's a great looking Vette.

I would have to measure mine but the numbers you gave are probably stock.

Hi Dennis,

I think the best way to measure the height of your Corvette is from the floor up through the center of the wheel to the opening of the fenderwell. And check both front and rear.
My car has been lowered all the way on the stock bolts with 2/3 of the bushings cut off. I just went out in the garage and measured it and it was
26 1/8" in the front and 27 1/8" in the rear which is proper because the C5s had a 1" rake from the factory.:cool

4 x 4???

I guess I have one of those "4 x 4" Vettes mentioned earlier in this thread. Mine is 27-1/2" up front and 28-1/2" in the back.;LOL

4X4 or street sweeper, if it has a Corvette on it you can't go wrong.:)

Dennis

The best place to measure ride hight is from the ground to where the car is jacked up from. Measuring to the top of the wheel well will give you the 'body' height and not the actual ride height.

2001 Coupe lowered on longer rear bolts and stock front bolts with
front bushing cut by 2/3's. Nice chin spoiler and Caravaggio rear
spoiler isn't bad either.

I'm posting this one with a certain level of reluctance since this kind
of thing gets such wild reponses. But let's assume that the car has an
air/hydraulic/servo ajustable suspension an it's all about a "trendy now" look.
You have to admit - this ride is "slammed".

Here's a shot of mine lowered on stock bolts. This spring I'll have a
PFADT coilover system installed and bring it down just a little lower.
