Old Fool W/04 Coupe

Congratulatoins and welcome back DGVETTE. Lets see some pictures of that '04 Silver Coupe.

BTW, what color was your LT-1? Any old pics?

-John

I'll have to work on those pictures. My LT-1 was blue. I don't remember the exact tint, something like medium metallic maybe.;shrug Those letters "LT-1" really look good on that hood. I really liked mine after it was balanced and blueprinted as we called in those days. I ordered it with 4-sp trans, leather seats and power windows. No comfort features like PS, PB or AC, it was all performance.

67Heaven... That is a beautiful car. I visited your web site. It brings back memories of the '66 Conv. w/327 engine that I once had. Good car, tough engine.

Could be! I kept breaking the T-10 transmission synchronizer rings in a 390 cu. in. '63 Ford Galaxie 500. It just couldn't take the speed shifting. I never had a problem with the 4-sp in my Vettes. But I tore apart the T-10 too many times.:ugh

I was mistaken, it was the M-22 that was called the Rock Crusher, I looked it up, info below:

Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1970 Chevelle SS | Conceptcarz.com ...[SIZE=-1]The Volo Auto Museum example is one of only 20 Chevelle LS-6 convertibles produced in 1970 with the famed M-22 Rock Crusher 4-speed transmission. ...:Steer

I had a 72 LT-1 and kind of looking for another one, not in a hurry but would like to find a nice one. What do you think I should expect to pay for a decent one?

Thanks,
Bill :w

First let me say I like your username "hoosierdaddy". It took awhile to get the "whose your" connection. ;)
I also wanted another LT-1 before I bought this C5. But I only found a restored one for $70k+ in my part of country. That was out of my price range plus I wanted to do the work myself.

Anyone who owns a Corvette is not a fool. Welcome to the Corvette Nation and CAC.

You are so right. My bad. :ugh
I recently lost my wife of 35 years to cancer and that was more the old fool thought than the Corvette. Thanks for setting me straight.

Here are pics of '04Silver Coupe. That is #4 grandson sitting in drivers seat. He knows the car is a "Kor-bet". :D

Great looking car. The color is good and don't tell me it has 4-sp and black leather seats 'cause I will die of envy!!!

Very sorry to hear you lost your wife to cancer. You have my deepest condolences.

Your new Vette is quite a looker! Your old one isn't half bad either! :D

Welcome to the CAC! You will have a great time here! :upthumbs

SAVE THE :w

DG,
All LT-1's are 4-speeds. Mine didn't come with leather, but it has it now. The previous owner did a frame-off on the car and went with a deluxe interior during the restoration. It was silver/black originally though, just like it is now. -John

Thanks; by the way my user name was selected by a contest of sorts on this forum with the members and if memory serves me Ms Tammy Schroder is the one that came up with the hoosierdaddy :beer then a vote was taken and wala the rest is history as they say :chuckle

I do want to buy a 72 LT-1 one of these days but I can't afford the $70k either, wouldn't mind doing a frame off restoration myself on one of these classics. Like I said I am not in any hurray, thought this might be a good retirement project for me one of these days.

Thanks,
Bill :w
