when cold, car wont turn over unless you give it gas ,and this is after several tries. also how do you clean the throttle body properly. please help, much appreciated.

Air, fuel, fire.

Air filter ok?

Fuel - pressure good? You HAVE TO know this. Get static fuel pressure. Plug in the gauge onto the schrader valve, turn the key to 'ON' (don't start it), note the pressure, and note it quickly after turning the key on. Note the time the pressure goes down to '0' psi.

You tube has pressure test vids for reference. Don't do dynamic pressure (motor running) - you don't need that yet; just do as I describe. Just like testing air pressure in a tire.

Fire - when it is running, is it running VERY smoothly at idle? If not, then exactly how does it idle?

It's injected ; you can't "give it gas"!

When you put your foot on the throttle while cranking, you are actually cutting off the fuel to the engine and letting extra air in. So on that basis you have too much fuel.
I would suspect your injectors are faulty or the cold start injector is leaking giving you TOO much gas at startup.

Throttle body / IAC will affect idle but not fireup.
