I need part #1 the O/D (kick/knock-Down) Solenoid. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Part # 14082729
(I can fix my 26 year old problem of the OD not working...if I can just locate a replacement.)
Any help?
Checked eBay and googled, no luck.

I understand. It's probably something I will do in the early winter as I just got the vette and want to drive it before summer is gone. If youre from CT then you know that summers go by in flash.
How much do you charge and what are the details...? I see rebuilt SBs for $140 on eBay ($50 core)...
Marvel Mystery Oil, ...has anyone heard of this stuff? My dad swears by it. You put it in the crankcase and or the gas. I think it even acts as a gas "stabil".
Does it work? Or is it snake oil.
Sorry if this is a real dumb question but here goes,
I need to replace my leaking valve cover gaskets in my 1979.
While off, I'd like to strip and repaint the valve covers as they are peeling.
What do I use to strip and what paint do you recommend? They are blue. This is not a show car (yet...
The '79 leaks on both passenger and driver side. There's a leak somewhere 6" from the windshield washer well to the fender on BOTH sides. (The garden hose test proves this.)
Its so far up I cant see where its coming from. The "flashlight at night" test didnt work...
Thanks...Steve
I bought a Vette for $900 last fall...
The interior was pretty wet from leakage (which I still can't locate). The seats are wrecked.
How can I remove pretty bad surface rust from both seat tracks? Should I? Can I, or is it a lost cause?
Thanks.
Steve
Thanks for everyone's help. Many of you have pointed to the alternator. So I bought a NEW one on eBay for $31. It wasn't worth rebuilding for $31.
So I will keep everyone posted once it's installed.
Steve
Its a plastic "air soft" gun from eBay. $4.00. I took the red tip off in Photoshop. It was posted on another vette site titled, "The Spy Who Posed for Me".
