    FINE LINES: 1957 Corvette SS

I took this photo of the car in our shop in 1989 while we were hauling to a show. Had to unload it to repair the trailer. Very cool car.

    updated front bumper

Do the 2 mounting surfaces mate together, or is there a gap between the bumper and the body? This is usually a problem on the sides where the top curves down towards the side but can also happen across the top. Once you tighten the bumper to the body, the gap will close up and cause the bumper...

    updated front bumper

Since you are removing your inner structure, you will have plenty of access from behind to run nuts onto the studs unlike the stock set up. It can still be easier to use the OEM retainers on the upper portions and the aftermarket retainers on the sides. Due to the angles on the nose, the...

    updated front bumper

Once you start test fitting the bumper with the studs installed, you'll find it easier to install and remove the bumper with the steel lip removed.

    updated front bumper

vmrod & LVMYVT76 Nine out 10 front bumpers on '75 and later cars will not fit out of the box, even flex fiberglass. Flex fiberglass bumpers are of little or no advantage in front, since filler is still required on the bumper to fill gaps for a good fit. It's best to use a standard fiberglass...

    Front Bumper Replacement

The urethane bumper will be the easiest fit without modifications, but will be wavy like the originals. The fiberglass bumper requires fitting but will be very straight and the lines will be crisp and sharp, much better appearing. Fiberglass bumpers usually won't fit around the curved fender...

    Can I make my '76 a Roadster ?

I agree, there should be fixer upper out there that will be less work than what you have planned. Roadsters also have reinforcements on both sides of the cowl behind the dash to minimize cowl shake. :beer

    EARLY AMERICAN PLATES

In Michigan we only have a rear plate, and we can choose the Historic plate or the original year plate or a host of regular and personalized. Historic plates have to be renewed, but the original year plate is lifetime.

American Custom Industries. http://www.acivette.com They manufacture most of the fiberglass parts you see at the Corvette distributors. Same parts, sometimes a little cheaper.

    75 & 81 rear bumpers

Thanks again guys. I did it myself and I used to be a body guy, still enjoy it as a hobby (I do cars for the fun of it if the owners help). It all started because I wanted a chambered exhaust with big tips done in Corvette style. I was going to use a '75 bumper and eliminate the guards for a...
