I bought a lifetime warrented remanufactured carb from National Carbs, was perfectly clean bolt on install. Fixed all my hesitation and choke probs, very happy with and it's been installed about 3 years now.
There's an adjustment screw located on the rod attached to the outside door handle, make sure this is adjusted properly and that it engages the mechanisam but also that it doesn't leave presure on the mechanisam when not in use or the door won't open after it's locked.

Looks like I've been able to answer my own question, these are now what's know as a 2 bar MAP sensor, bosh style, available at most auto parts stores and Summit online.
